MeepleCon 2015

Held on Friday the 4th of December until Sunday the 6th of December, the annual end of year celebration for all things tabletop was held at the Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre, with 200 guests on the Saturday and Sunday.

The Freeplay library contained the Melbourne Meeples collection, plus a selection of games from the BunnyCon and PAXAUS libraries.

There was a range of organised play and tournaments, including tournaments with prizes of gift vouchers from GateKeeper Games. Games could also be bought from our on-site retailers, SpieleDeluxe  and Unhalfbricking.

The 2015 MeepleCon was the first to include the Dexterity Lab, an official Designer’s Alley, Flea Market and was the first to be held over three days.

Meeplecon 2014

The second MeepleCon was held at the Edinburgh Gardens Community Centre in leafy surrounds of the Edinburgh Gardens.

With more space (and natural light) we had more visitors…. selling out with 100 per day.

Again held a silent auction (though it ended up turning into an actual auction) and ran Power Grid (10th anniversary Deluxe edition), Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride (10th anniversary edition) tournaments as well as playing Pandemic to cure Ebola.

This was also the first year we played Fische Fluppen Frikadellen with multiple boards. We even had designers demoing unpublished games.

And everyone loved the badges!

Meeplecon 2013 Incorporating ConVic XII

The first Meeplecon (incorporating ConVic XII) was held on the 30th of November and 1st of December 2013 at the Melbourne Chess Club (66 Leicester Street, Fitzroy 3065). With an attendance of around 50 per day, MeepleCon 2013 set the stage for following MeepleCons.

The first MeepleCon followed on from the 11 previous ConVics, an event held in the past in Melbourne by Unhalfbricking. Melbourne Meeples formed from the organisers of NSEG to keep a weekend community run board gaming event going in Melbourne.
